Do you find it difficult to keep your makeup in place all day? Whether you have oily skin, don’t handle humidity or are just rushing around working up a sweat, the struggle can be real.

Here’s how to make your makeup last all day.

Preparation is key.

Make sure you start with a clean face. A quick wipe of micellar water (with a Forever Makeup Round) will make sure you remove any excess oil from your face and eyelids.

Choose the right moisturiser and SPF.

We obsess about the foundation we apply but often underthink the SPF that goes underneath. Make sure you choose an oil free moisturiser and an SPF formula that is mattifying. Let them soak in properly before you go any further.

Get primed.

Apply a layer of shine control primer to your entire face, and if you have particularity oily eyelids opt for an eye primer on the lids.

Put your face on.

Apply your foundation or BB Cream and eye makeup as normal. All except for your mascara.

Powder up.

Add a translucent microfinishing loose powder all over using a Kabuki brush, and over the eyes using a clean fluffy eyeshadow brush. The powder gives your products more staying power. Apply your mascara after this step.

You’re almost set.

To seal your look spray a setting mist over your entire face. They are weightless and will hold makeup in place so it doesn’t smudge, crack, melt or fade.

Travel with reinforcements.

Pop some blotting paper in your bag so you can dab your T-zone throughout the day if you are feeling sweaty (rather than dewy). They work by absorbing oil from the skin, without lifting your makeup away with them.
